What is BUYBACK?

Buyback is an opportunity for students to sell back their unwanted books. Buyback is done throughout the year. However, the best time to sell your books is at the end of each semester when the demand for textbooks is usually higher because colleges are preparing for the following term. For the rest of the year, we buy books based on the current national demand for the title.

We will pay up to 50% of the purchase price if your book is in demand for the following semester on this campus. However, you may not necessarily receive the 50% if the book is not in high national demand. In that case, you may be offered anywhere from 0 to 30% of the purchase price. Old editions or out-of-print textbooks may not have any value. You may sell books you used at other colleges.

Books must also be in good, resalable condition with no water damage, broken spines, torn or missing pages. Custom course materials and packets, as well as workbooks will not be bought back. Textbooks packaged and sold with supplemental materials (i.e. cd-rom, cassettes, diskettes) may require all components to be present at the time you are selling back your books. The condition of the book will be determined by the buyer at the time you sell back your books.

For your protection, a photo ID (preferably a student ID) is required for all buyback transactions. Anyone caught selling back a lost or stolen book will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
